I made this with a metal waste bin and various item being thrown in - paintbrush scissors etc to represent garden tools.

4 loosely stacked hand claps 4x. Good for adding hand claps to music.

Contact microhone placed on metal plate. Light tapping and scratching by hand, in the second half scratching by another thin metal tool. Vacuum tube amplifier with contact microphone.

Here are some recordings of some of my basic woodwork tools. I'll try and get better recordings in the future but i share a workshop and it is rarely quiet enough to get good recordings. All recordings are me working on a piece of 25mm thick walnut timber. Listening back has made me realise that all of these tools need sharpening!! :). The recordings are as follows:. 00:00 - 00:26stanley block plane fine shaving the edge of the timber. 00:28 - 01:33stanley 5m retractable tape measure, metal blade and plastic casing. Tape being wound out and drawn back in. 01:36 - 03:30milwaukee m12 battery drill. Trigger being pressed, chuck opening and closing and bits being changed. Drilling into timber. Driving screws into the timber and removing them again. 03:32 - 05:14lie nielsen crosscut tenon saw cutting across the grain of the timber. 05:17 - endgeneral purpose wood saw 'ripping' along the grain of the timber. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. Recorded on a laptop microphone, using my own hand claps, layered many times and manipulated in audacity, for a song. Surprisingly good result. Enjoy :).

This is a fanfare sound that i need to make better. . . If anyone could help make it sound like an actual trumpet, that'd be great. Thanks!.

Washing my hands in the sink. It may be useful for a hospital or bathroom environment. It's my first sound uploaded, so don't say it's crap or anything, because it's a chromebook microphone thru scratch. It's creative commons, but just because i'm being generous.

Simply recorded myself from different directions and distance to emulate a small group.

Time to give something back. Drilling right in front of my house. Because internet cable was broken. Used the opportunity to mic it up. Recording made from inside. Drilling is about 5m away with a wall in between. You can hear my son about halfway through way in the background. But thought i wouldn't cut up the sample. Recording using 2 x gefell m930 in ortf stereo. No processing. Use freely. Would appreciate attribution if you use it, but not mandatory.
